Answers to a few questions...
So far, we have no access to any backups or support from that the host who was providing server. It would be normal to allow the host providing the server to handle backups as part of their support structure. So losing that support structure is unexpected and not the kind of thing a fan site like us can recover from easily. If the support structure was in place we could have had the server reset and the odds are it would boot up normally.
We have tried to see if our previous host still has our data backed up, but it appears they do not have the backup of the files anymore as we deleted these on about the end of June, and they dont keep files of ex-customers that long. However, they do still have our old databases, so we have asked them to put these online for us to recover from. This is vital, as we cant start a new TMX without a copy of the database structure as it contains many 'stored procedures' which do all hard work for the site whenever a track is uploaded or a replay is posted.
So we have the most recent code base. And we have some out of date stored procedures in the database structure. We also have the site banners & graphics (I think). Our next actions will be to find a server, get a test site up and running, start trying to update the stored procedures & database tables to match the code base.
So thats where the TMX recovery effort is at.
On another note, theres only a few people who actually know what support TMX does or does not get from Nadeo. The fact that this is not a relationship that is conducted in public does not mean its one that doesnt exist.

Die TMX-Crew hat allerdings ihren alten Host angeschrieben, ob der nicht alte Daten von ihnen hätte. Dies wäre sehr wichtig, denn nur so wäre ein sauberer Neustart möglich.
Ein paar Sachen konnten allerdings "gerettet" werden, so dass die Crew derzeit auf der Suche nach einem neuen Server ist und versuchen wird dann erstmal eine Testseite online zu bringen und diese zu updaten.
Im letzten Absatz wirds dann nochmal interessant. Hier spricht MrA von einer etwaigen Unterstützung seitens Nadeo, dem Entwickler von TMU. Vielleicht gibts ja von Nadeo entscheidende Hilfe, anscheinend unterstützen sie TMX ja schon seit längerem, haben das aber nicht öffentlich gemacht.
Ich hoffe einfach, dass die Seite bald wieder online gehen kann. Ich denke die TMX Crew tut ihr bestes, damit das schnell erreicht werden kann  . |

O Mann, das klingt mir aber schon alles etwas abendteuerlich....
Wo gibt's denn sowas, dass ein Seitenbetreiber einer so riesigen angesagten Seite net mal eigene Backups hat? 
Jede kleine Furz-Homepage hat Backups, sowohl bei dem, der die Seite erstellt und wartet, als auch bei dem, der die Seite hostet. Mein Vater betreibt auch i-net coding und hosting, der macht aller 2 Tage Backups. Und die Begründung "Support des Providers" gibt's nicht mehr, kapier ich auch nicht so ganz. Was soll es dem Provider nutzen, die Daten nimmer rauszugeben?? Wenn es ihm vll zuviel Traffic ist oder es gar keinen i-net-Zugriff auf die Datenbanken mehr gibt, dann kann doch mal jemand vor Ort hinfahren und die Daten auf gute alte Hardware-Weise wiederbeschaffen. Das ist doch alles besser, als die komplette Page mit irgendwelchen uralt-Stammdaten neu aufzusetzen.
Bleibt nur zu hoffen, dass die Sache baldmöglichst geregelt wird, denn ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass in der Community nach ein paar Wochen down-time von TMX iwann mal "die Luft raus ist". |

Ich weiß es, weils TimeBreaker auf unsere Homepage (BL Homepage) geschrieben hat... Von einer anderen Quelle weiß ich nichts...
Wird sich alles in den nächsten Tagen herausstellen. Aber dieses TMX so wie es war wird nichtmehr zu retten sein.

Im Englischen Trackmania-Forum stehts, habs gerade selber gelesen
Es steht fest, TMX wird nichtmehr online kommen.
Vllt. macht ja jemand ein neues TMX, jedoch wird das lange dauern bis diese Seite dann so berühmt wird wie das alte TMX, und wenn dann wird es lange nicht so gutwie das alte TMX! Also legt nicht alle Hoffnungen drauf.
Mir tut das sehr weh, wegen TMX, es hat immer Spaß gemacht gegen die WR's zu fahren und Strecken hochzuladen, neue Strecken zu fahren, Comments zu posten, awards vergeben, usw...

Aber ich raffs ja echt mal nicht dass die kein einziges mal nen Backup von ihrer DB
gemacht haben. Das ist ja schon selten dämlich. |
